Claire McElroy, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Salt Lake City, UT
My passion for helping others is deeply rooted in my own journey of inner work and personal recovery. I believe in walking alongside my clients, never asking them to do anything I wouldn’t do myself.
My approach is attachment-based, integrating EMDR, IFS, experiential modalities, executive functioning skills, and emotionally focused therapies to support healing from trauma, addiction, neurodivergent related challenges, and co-occurring disorders. I help clients reconnect with themselves, build self-esteem, and create meaningful change.
I specialize in treating substance use disorders, trauma, co-occuring mental health disorders, adolescents, complex PTSD, autism, and ADHD.

ABOUT ME
Claire is originally from Mobile, Alabama, but was drawn to the mountains out West. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of South Alabama and her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. With extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families, Claire specializes in supporting clients struggling with addiction, mental health challenges, and relationship dynamics. Prior to earning her Master's degree, Claire gained valuable hands-on experience working in various capacities for residential treatment centers across the West.
Beyond my work, I cherish time with my husband, our son Mac (1), and our two beloved dogs, Boo and Lily, who are often in my office offering their own quiet support. I find joy in movement—whether it’s skiing, mountain biking, or exercising—as well as in creativity through reading, crocheting, baking, and cooking. I also love playing mahjong, traveling, camping, and being with friends and family.
